Today we're making these cute and pretty easy bat booties, perfect for little Halloween feet!
- Black felt
- White felt
- Black and purple embroidery thread
- Tape measure
First off you'll need to draw around your child's foot on the paper to make the base template. Make sure your generous when drawing the outline, add about 1cm around the rim to allow for sewing later other wise the bootie might be a bit tight!
Once you have your base templates cut them out of black felt. To make the side panels, measure out the rim of your base and cut out 2 rectangles with curved ends like this.
Pin the side panels to the bases like this, you can trim the edges if they don't meet up neatly.
Sew around the edges using purple thread. Now sew two small pieces of elastic into the booties at the front. This will join the 2 side panels together and help the bootie stay on. You have your basic bootie, time to decorate!
Cut out small bat wings and eye pupils out of the black felt and eyes and fangs out of the white felt. Sew on the wings with the black thread and glue on the eyes and fangs.
I love these little booties, they're so cute! Sadly they won't fit for long as Lux is growing so fast but we'll get a lot of use out of them over Halloween! Happy Halloween!
