Our Autumn Seaside Holiday with Park Resorts

I've never been on a autumn seaside holiday before so when we were given the opportunity to review a Park Resorts Holiday in October we were so excited! We hadn't been away all year so it was so great to have a weekend away from home and it was Lux's first holiday!

I love the comforting nostalgia of a caravan holiday, we went every year as a kid and I've always found it fun staying in a caravan - like staying on your own little island and much comfier than a tent!

We chose to stay at the Bideford Bay resort in Devon (2 hours from Bristol). The day before your holiday you receive a very helpful email giving you handy tips for your break as well as a list of things to bring which was really helpful as I always forget things when packing!

So this was our home for the weekend! We stayed in a bronze caravan which was clean, spacious, dog friendly with plenty of storage, masses of comfy sofas with pull out beds.

Some caravans can feel pokey and cramped but this was really well designed and spacious, it felt as big as our house at times!

We arrived on the Friday evening in the dark and rain. Thankfully the caravan heated up quickly and had a cozy gas fire that helped dry us off.

The master bedroom consisted of a comfy double bed, cupboards, wardrobes and even a en suite with toilet and sink!

The modern kitchen was really great for self catering with lots of cupboards, a fridge freezer, cooker with gas hobs, I was really impressed.

I loved all the sofa space, although there was only 3 of us.(I would recommend bringing a lamp for lower lighting). We slept in the front room next to Lux's cot the first night but found out that the cot fitted in bedroom on second night which was much comfier!

The caravan site was really beautiful. I didn't realise it would be so lush and green by the sea!

There is a pub/ restaurant with good value for money, Wetherspoons style food but the drinks were a bit pricy and the vegetarian selection wasn't huge but I had the veggie chili and it was really tasty and filling.
I love a full English Breakfast when on holiday and it was very tasty and good value for money.

The resort also offers free kids actives throughout the day everyday for all ages.  We went to the swimming pools under 2's session in the clean, fun, medium size pool plus baby pool. There was no one else there when we arrived and it was really relaxing having the pool to ourselves with tons of pool toys.

Outside there is free crazy golf and a large playground which Lux played on the swings.

Bideford was a lovely location with lots of interesting places to visit around. We went to the beautiful seaside village of Clovelly which we'd defiantly visit again. Lux got to pet a donkey that you can see she loved!

Lux's holiday souvenir!

I love a British seaside holiday as they are usually whimsical, kitsch and I eat way too much fish and chips!

One of the best things about our holiday was the great, friendly staff at the resort who were all really chatty and helpful.

We had a lovely holiday with Park Resorts and we'd definitely go again. Its great exploring more parts of the UK and they have a few sites on the Isle of Wight that look lovely and the price includes your ferry travel!

    1. I really enjoyed your post, I love Wales! The bronze caravan was really good and we chose it because we could bring our dog Bellamy but they had some really posh looking caravans that were pretty much houses! x

  7. Oh I have to say this place looks lovely - we have debated wether or not to go to Park resorts as we know some of the sites are in need of repair but this one looks really good and the caravan is nice, spacious and clean - what more could you ask for, plus Devon is such a beautiful part of the world. Thanks so much for sharing this review - going to keep this in mind for next year for sure

  8. Oh it looks like a lovely spot. Like Laura I turned this down, I thought the dog friendly accommodation didn't look very appealing but now I spy your gorgeous dog and see it looks really nice - regretting it! We also have a caravan though, like you have fond memories of trips as a kid, so all is not lost. Love your seaside pics!
